Starring: Kajal Agarwal, Sonu Sood, Bellamkonda Srinivas, Bithiri Sathi

Gossiper Rating: 2.5/5

Preview:

Director Teja choose to go with this project Sita over NTR Biopic. Though Biopic was a flop, may be Teja would have brought Different fortune. This Marks the third collaboration between Director Teja and Kajal. After launching Kajal with Lakshmi Kalyanan, He again directed Kajal for Nene Raju Nene Mantri and now they are coming up with Sita. This is also the second collobration of Kajal Agarwal with Bellamkonda Srinivas. There were high expectations around the project and Bellamkonda Srinivas.

Story:

The story revolves around three character. A typical Attitude based city brought up girl with extreme arrogance, played by Kajal Agarwal (Sita). Mentally underdeveloped Ram, played by Sonu Sood and troublemaker Basavaraju( Sonu Sood).

Due to financial issues, Sita gets into a trap with Sonu Sood and later which becomes a nuisance. Mean while she gets to meet Mentally underdeveloped Ram. Rest of the story lies on How Sita over comes her problem with Basavaraju. What was the Ram’s part in helping Sita and how long there relationship goes forms the main crux of the story.

Analysis:

One would laugh at Teja for choosing Sita after walking out of a project like NTR biopic. After a strong comeback with Nene Raju Nenu Mantri, there was decent expectations on this project. Whereas Teja failed in the basis itself with a routine story and a unclear stretching narration. Undoubtedly Teja is one of the very few directors like Puri Jagannath and Krishna Vamsi. He has his own style of treating the story. Irrespective of the result, Teja has a section of audience who will love his work. Similarly, Sita also has his style of touch and moments. But for normal audience Sita will extremely fall flat.

Performance wise, Kajal Agarwal and Sonu Sood were flawless. Whatever flaws story had, were covered upto an extent with Kajal’s screen presence. But how far a single character can pull the movie. The character played by Bellamkonda Srinivas was not his cup of tea. Apart from routine story, Bellamkonda Srinivas as Ram in the movie is an unbeatable pain. If, the character of Ram was played by some one else, irrespective of the routine story, Sita would have ended up as a decent one. Tanikella Bharani, Bhagyaraj, Bithiri Sathi all added good strength to the scenes.

The saddest part is, audience laughing the character of Ram. It will be quite difficult to Differentiate between intentional comedy and unintentional comedy in Ram Character. Bellamkonda Srinivas has been such a Disaster in the movie.

Payal Rajput fails to make any impression on the screen with Bull Reddy Song. If at all watching her skin show is a prominent reason to watch this movie, better look at her social media accounts.

Anup Rubens doesn’t miss his template/ style of songs and BGM. Cinematography and editing was pretty okay, climax and Pre climax part could have been taken care a little on the editing table.

Except for Bellamkonda Srinivas, routine story and predictive narration Sita is a overall average fare. Kajal will make you glued.
