Chandrababu Naidu, the 3 time Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, the seasonal politician lost the 2019 General Elections to his rival. There was no such negativity on either the TDP government or the party. Despite the new born state with a deficit budget of 16,000 crores, the TDP supremo Naidu put his extreme efforts and listed Andhra Pradesh one among the top 5 states in India. AP would definitely be the No.1 or a competitor to the No.1 state. He made reforms in all the departments. He was the best in disaster management. Also there were no power charges increments, power cuts, crop holidays, farmer suicides in his reign. Also he treated government employees like never before. He promised them all their wants & fulfilled them too.
So there was no negativity on CBN’s rule. Then why did he lost with such a huge margin. Here are some of the reasons.
Split of Votes by Janasena:
The PowerStar led Janasena was one of the reasons. The fact that Janasena depended on kapu caste votes cannot be denied. And yes, PawanKalyan succeeded in doing so. He had split a huge margin of about 22Lakh votes.
Lack of publicity for Government Schemes:
Yes, the reign of Babu was definitely a good one. Welfare was one of the best and the schemes reached the people very well. But where was the mistake? TDP government failed to make the credit out of them. The representatives in the public domain didn’t focus on the same.
Negativity on the Sittings:
Yes, there was full on negativity on about 40 sitting MLAs, which was not seriously considered by the supremo, that backfired in the elections.
Not much focus on Social Media:
Today, almost 60% of the world population lies in Social Media. SM can do many miracles, can make a nameless the celebrity. And this is what TDP Supremo, a tech savvy didn’t focus on. He didn’t had a special wing in SM to attract the new & young voters.
MLA contestants, the real destructors:
The ticket holders are the ones who have destroyed the chances of winning. They were not that deep into the public domain. They didn’t take the elections that serious. Have completely relied on Babu, rather focusing on ground .
CASTE The main pawn :
TDP was highly projected as a CASTE BASED/BIASED party that supports an upper caste which holds only 5% of the total population. This made a huge impact. In fact, TDP is backed by BCs since NTR’s time. But In this elections it was projected to be a caste party.
There are many such reasons for the defeat of TDP. Hope TDP bounces back extremely strong in 2024.
