Undoubtedly Jagan has Surprised everyone with his daring list of cabinet ministers. The list featured Ministers mostly from Backward castes. Infact only 4 ministers were present in the list from his own Reddy community. Jagan’s cabinet had 70% ministers from Backward castes, scheduled castes and scheduled Tribes. However his idea of 5 deputy chief ministers got immediate backlash from nation wide. By evening, with the list of cabinet ministers Deputy CM’s issue was vanished.
Now coming to the comparison with Chandra babu Naidu led TDP Government of 2014, it had almost 50% Ministers in cabinet from Open categories( Reddy, Kamma, Kapu, Vysyas). Where YS Jagan scored big time by reducing the OC’s below 30% in his cabinet. This has come undoubtedly coem has a welcome move from several sectors of BC communities.
TDP infact of having extreme following among BC’s, TDP failed to recognise the BC candidates to the fullest. YS Jagan had played a very clever move by understanding the strength of higher vote share of BC’s in Andhra Pradesh. Almost being 20 years less in age than Chandra babu Naidu, Jagan is performing extremely well in certain issue, especially when it comes to satisfying his party members right from creamy layer of part to the cadre. This is where TDP failed miserably in 2019 elections.
