No elections until the Paints are removed: High Court to YSRCP

High court of Andhra Pradesh has clearly said No to local body elections in Andhra Pradesh until the YSRCP colour paints are removed from all the Grama Panchayat buildings. It is a well known issue that Ys Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSRCP government painted all the Grama Panchayat buildings at a expenditure of Rs 1600 crores. Owing to the local body elections, High court of Andhra Pradesh ordered the YSRCP Government to repaint the Grama Panchayat buildings to actual colours.

But, YSRCP neglected the high court judgement and appealed for the same in Supreme court. Even in the supreme Court, YSRCP received similar response. Over ruling both the Judgements, YSRCP dared to go forward with local body Elections. Whereas due to Coronavirus Pandemic the elections got postponed. Still, even to the date the paints aren’t removed.

Today the High court remained the YSRCP government once again to repaint the Grama Panchayat buildings. It has also said to the YSRCP led Andhra Pradesh Government that the local body elections won’t be allowed until the Paints are removed completely. However, YSRCP Government is least bothered about the court orders.
