Anna Canteens would've helped public in Coronavirus lockdown

If Anna Canteens in Andhra Pradesh were still Working, they would’ve come handy during this Coronavirus lockdown. Going by the Political egos, Andhra Pradesh CM Ys Jagan Mohan Reddy ordered to close all the Anna Canteens. Anna Canteens were a revolution started under the TDP Government. The Anna Canteens were serving food at minimum costs of Re 1 to Rs 7. If these Canteens were serving today, public who are left helpless in the Lockdown situation could’ve been benefitted with three time meals.

Neighboring states like Tamil Nadu is having Amma canteen and Telangana is also providing free meals through GHMC. In Tamil Nadu, though all the private hotels are shut down, Amma Canteens are working three times a day with restrictions. Today, if Anna Canteens were serving food, several of the stranded public would’ve been free from hunger. In regions like Vijayawada, Tirupathi and Vishakapatnam there are many people stranded on the roads without food and shelter due to lack of transport to reach their native places.

If Anna Canteens were serving food during Coronavirus lockdown, many would’ve got food at the least. Andhra Pradesh CM Ys Jagan should come out with the Canteen service in the future. Food is the basic need for any individual at any point. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Ys Jagan Mohan Reddy and his ministers should realise this and reopen Anna Canteens.
