A rude shock has been delivered to the Citizens of Andhra Pradesh. Amaravati Capital Development Pact with Singapore consortium has been cancelled.
YS Jagan led YSRCP Government is very adamant over the change in capital from Amaravati region. On one hand, government has formed a committee to analyse whether to move ahead with Amaravati as capital or not. The committee is collecting opinions from the people of Various regions belonging to Andhra Pradesh.
On the other hand, government has stalled almost all works in the capital region. Yesterday, going a step ahead, Amaravati Capital Development Pact signed with Singapore consortium has been cancelled. I&PR minister Perni Nani has officialy confirmed the same.
6.86 Sq. km area, i.e 1700 acres was under this project. Whereas, with around 170 acres situated on river bed was termed to be a environmental threat. Owing to which whole capital developmentent project has been cancelled. While the political circles are terming this action from ruling government as the first official indication for changing the capital region.
