3 Bangladesh cricket players infected with Coronavirus

Bangladesh former captain Mashrafe Mortaza along with two other cricket players Nazmul Islam and Nafees Iqbal is said to be infected with the coronavirus. These players have confirmed the news as true and are now under isolation. They are now being treated as the fans pray for their recovery.

After Pakistani cricketer Afridi was infected by the deadly coronavirus. And now it seems to be the turn of Bangladesh cricket players to be infected with the coronavirus. The team’s former captain Mashrafe Mortaza is said to have contracted the virus. After feeling unwell for a couple of days, Mortaza was tested positive for the virus yesterday. He is now in self-isolation in his own residence and is taking the treatment. Mortaza who has represented Bangladesh in 36 tests, 225 ODIs, and 54 T20Is has confirmed this news himself. He also requested everyone to pray for a speedy recovery.

In addition, two other players Nazmul Islam and Nafees Iqbal are also reportedly infected by the virus. Islam is a 28-year-old left-arm spinner. He has been distributing food in his hometown Narayanganj which is one of the worst-hit areas in Bangladesh. Consequently, he is tested positive for the virus. On the other hand, Nafees Iqbal is the younger brother of Bangladeshi star batsman Tamim Iqbal. Nafees confirmed the news that he was tested positive for the virus. He also revealed that he is taking treatment and is currently under isolation.

The total coronavirus cases in Bangladesh have reportedly crossed one lakh.
